Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, expressed feeling out of place during a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He humorously remarked that he was “doing the Joe Biden” as he looked around and didn’t recognize anyone on the field. This comment was shared by Brooke Pryor on X.
“I’m 21 years in the league. Who do I know on Jacksonville,” said Rodgers, NFL Player. “I was kinda looking around you know, doing the Joe Biden, well I guess I don’t know anybody here so I’m just gonna walk off.”
According to ESPN Reporter Brooke Pryor, Rodgers mentioned that after 21 years in the league, he now “gravitates toward the old heads.” He recounted walking off the field in Jacksonville, realizing he didn’t recognize anyone—a moment he likened to “doing the Joe Biden.” He then joined veterans Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt.
The Pittsburgh Steelers concluded their training camp in Latrobe on August 12 with a final padded practice. This marked the end of a two-and-a-half-week stint at Saint Vincent College ahead of a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a preseason game at Acrisure Stadium this weekend, according to Behind the Steel Curtain. In reviewing camp standouts, Rodgers was named Offensive Player of the Camp. His performance and leadership were highlighted as key factors for the Steelers’ 2025 outlook.
Rodgers officially began his 21st NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, calling his decision to sign a one-year, $13.65 million deal “best for my soul,” according to ESPN. The 41-year-old said it came down to Pittsburgh or retirement, citing his rapport with head coach Mike Tomlin as decisive. “It was here or not play,” Rodgers said, adding that personal matters had delayed his commitment earlier in the offseason. While easing into the playbook and taking limited reps in minicamp, Rodgers said he wants to be “a servant leader” and is focused on integrating with teammates.
Aaron Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl XLV champion who spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers before joining the New York Jets briefly. Entering his 21st season in 2025, he has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
